Altitude
$675.00
The most technically advanced piece of outerwear we make, the Altitude is designed to take you to the very edge of the snow-covered world. It is made with Schoeller® c_change™ smart fabric, which can adjust its level of heat retention and breathability depending upon the conditions. During times of heavy aerobic activity, the fabric's membrane opens to allow heat to escape, but during times of inactivity the membrane contracts to maximize heat retention. This technically advanced fabric ensures that you will be cool going down the mountain and warm going up.
As for the design, the Altitude offers a variety of mountain-ready features, including an ergonomic fit for extended range of motion, a 3-point adjustable hood that's large enough to fit over a helmet, removable zipper pulls, and a zipper garage at the collar to prevent a cold metal zipper from pressing up against the neck. To allow for temperature regulation, the Altitude has been outfitted with extended pit zip vents that run up the side and underarm. The zippered hand-warmer pockets and two Napoleon chest pockets offer quick exterior storage, while two interior zippered pockets let you keep your valuables close to your person. For a snug fit, the Altitude also features anchored bottom-hem adjusters that allow the wearer to cinch the bottom opening to fit.
A flat construction snow skirt with gripper tape has also been incorporated into to the Altitude's design. For resort skiing, the snow skirt can be unzipped and removed entirely, but for heavy powder conditions, the snow skirt can be attached and adjusted to prevent snow from creeping in. In extreme powder conditions, special snapped loops along the back can be directly attached to the Apex snow pants to create a fully integrated "snowsuit."
The Altitude also comes integrated with a RECCO® rescue reflector. The two-part RECCO® Rescue System is used by avalanche rescue teams all over the world and can quickly and accurately lead snow-patrol rescuers to buried avalanche victims. In the event of an avalanche, rescue teams fire an electronic signal into the snow and victims wearing a RECCO® reflector will bounce the signal back to a RECCO® detector, guiding the rescuers to their exact location.
* Color Note: The bright electric blue of Glacier will fade slightly if exposed for prolonged periods of time to the sun.
