The military field jacket was initially developed to provide soldiers with a piece of outerwear that would be able to perform in a wide range of demanding environments. This style has been co-opted by many in the fashion industry for its aesthetic purpose; however we wanted our Military Jacket to get back to the performance-driven functionality for which it was originally designed. 



Unsatisfied with the cotton and nylon blends typically used, we began a search for a fabric that would deliver technical performance while remaining comfortable enough for everyday wear. We finally found what we were looking for with EtaProof®. This densely woven cotton was originally developed for the immersion suits worn by Hurricane pilots during WWII. The fabric has the natural, comfortable feel of cotton, but is weatherproof and thermally insulating. Each tightly woven fiber is thinner than a human hair and swells up to 10% when wet, which seals exterior pores while allowing body humity to pass through. 

For the design, we kept things simple and functional: two cargo chest pockets and two front drop pockets with snap closures. We also added articulated elbows for greater ease of movement and an adjustable waist for a personalized fit.
